Catskills Whimsy
Invitation Suite
Olivia and Sam got engaged in the Catskills and chose the Deer Mountain Inn for their wedding venue. They love Wes Anderson movies, Hudson River School of Art and vintage and whimsical details. We combined all this inspiration to make a watercolor invitation suite for them with recreations of Asher Brown Durand’s paintings, an earthy green letterpress and gold foil accents.
They chose an ecru and pearl white paper color scheme. We hand painted the Catskills flora to create a border for their invitation cards and a pattern for the envelope liner. We chose fun typography to call to mind Wes Anderson movie credits.
The suite is finished with custom postage featuring the couple’s monogram.
